My name is Jean Walker. Once upon a time, I was a jogger. Then my knees got old and the rest of me got lazy.
In January, 2009, I decided to get off my butt and start exercising. My husband suggested I try walking. I began by walking the streets of my neighborhood. I started with a few flat blocks at a slow pace. My initial goal was to walk 2-3 miles, every other day.
Now, I walk 4-5 miles, 4-5 days a week. I still walk the neighborhood streets, and I include the hills. However, one of my favorite walks is 4.8 miles at the Benicia State Recreation Area.
